REUNITE
Since the inception of this website in February of this year,
we would like to hear from you now if you have located someone
or someone has located you through this website.
Tell us, in your own words, your exciting experience in reuniting with that long lost friend via this website.
Lois Brooks, Nancy Druss and I had a great long lunch on the
Georgetown(DC)waterfront this past weekend. We did lots of
reminiscing and brought a copy of the yearbook to put names with
faces. We even pored over old copies of the Beacon. It was loads
of fun after 37 years!

This Sunday I spent the day with Phyllis Kornbluh Levitt
and her husband Jeff. What a great day we had. I brought my copy
of the yearbook and we spent the day reminiscing. Phyllis's memory
is a lot better than mine!!! We plan on getting together again soon.
Vivien Austin Brosowsky - 05/01/01
Vivien Austin Brosowsky and I had a reunion this past Sunday.
My husband Jeff joined us since he is also a FHHS graduate ('62).
We talked and laughed and reminisced about our time together since the first grade at PS 175, Halsey Junior High and, of course Forest Hills High School.
The day wasn't long enough and we all had a great time! I wish the
same type of experience for all of you who might get together in
the future.

Joanne Frankel emailed me when she saw my name on Classmates.com.
She lives in California and I live in New Jersey. After corresponding for a
few months, my husband and I went to California for a wedding. We arranged
to meet Joanne for dinner. It was so much fun seeing each other and catching
up after all these years.

Susan Berg and I discovered months ago that we both lived in the suburbs
of DC, but on different sides of the Potomac River. We planned our reunion for
after the school year and so met today for the first time in 37 years. We each
brought pieces of nostalgia and spent lunch poring over the yearbooks from FHHS
and Halsey, reading old Beacons, report cards, graduation programs, etc. We
even had two women eyeing us and one of them, it turns out, also graduated
from her high school in 1964. She recognized our year from the hairdos
in our yearbook!

Yesterday I had a reunion with Ira Sitomer. I went into NYC and we went out to
lunch. Ira looks fantastic! We talked about the past (I brought the FHHS yearbook
and even pictures of my second and ninth grade classes) but mainly about what's going
on in our lives at the present time. We hope to see each other again soon.
Vivien Austin Brosowsky - 07/10/01
What a weekend! Phyllis Kornbluh and Vivien Austin drove from New York to DC for a
reunion with Nina Broad and Susan Berg. We laughed, we drank, we shopped,
we toured DC, and we ate a lot of food. We pored through FHHS, Halsey and PS 175
memorabilia and reminisced about our classmates and our teachers. We were practicing
for the 40th!

Michelle Gummers and I met for a reunion lunch just yesterday after a 37 year
separation!! We had no trouble recognizing each other and ate on Austin Street !!
She was up from Houston to celebrate her father's 88th birthday. We had found
each other in classmates a few months ago and pledged to find others from our
class (like DeeDee Lewis, The Dorfman sisters, and Minette Rothman) with a
vengance ! Please write if you can help with our mission.

During the summer of 2001 I met Freda Stern for lunch on Wall Street.
We hadn't seen each other in over 20 years. There was immediate
recognition and conversation.
I also was contacted by Vivien Austin we have gotten together
various times and stay in touch by e mail.

Susan Schwartz Strock and I hadn't seen each other in 37 years
or so but we recently got to catch up over brunch at her brother's
house in Maryland. We had been corresponding ever since we
reconnected through this website. It was a fabulous few hours as
we reminisced about our past both at FHHS and Halsey. I even got
to meet her husband and son. We can't wait to do it again.

On Saturday January 12, 2002, Liza Belsik Oshrin & I, with our husbands,
met for dinner here in Florida. The last time we saw each other
was at graduation and we all know how long ago that was. For those
of you who are nervous about meeting classmates after all these
years, don't be. We had no trouble recognizing one another and it
was a lot of fun. After Liza & I reminissed about Halsey &
Forest Hills High, the four of us moved the conversation into
the present. At that point I remembered why Liza & I were friends
so many years ago & if we were not geographically miles apart,
we would probably get together regularly. If any of you are
wondering whom we spoke about....you'll have to come to the
reunion & hear it for yourself.
